My guest and I thoroughly enjoyed T.G.I. Friday’s. The food was mouth-watering, the staff friendly and we were seated quickly. We were impressed by the bar staff’s talents (Nick in particular). He kept us entertained in the short time we were waiting to be seated. If it’s big American portions you are after, then T.G.I. Friday's is for you. It has a family feel and is perfect for gatherings and birthday bashes.

The Venue
T.G.I.’s is pretty much what you’d expect from an American restaurant, a large diner with an island bar in the middle. It’s big, noisy and all American, with a red and white colour scheme and chirpy staff. James our waiter was very entertaining and could not do enough to help.

The Atmosphere
This venue was vibrant, busy and exciting with a fun, feel-good atmosphere. There is regularly a mixture of families and groups of friends celebrating birthdays. The service was speedy, but more importantly, you do not feel rushed.

The Food
Jack Daniel's Wings. Tender chicken wings, coated in our Jack Daniel's sweet 'n' smoky glaze. Served with celery and even more Jack Daniel's glaze on the side. £4.29

Hot 'n' Cool Lettuce Wraps                                                                                                                                                         Wrap our spicy char grilled chicken and freshly sautéed onion, red & green peppers inside crisp lettuce cups to create a hot and cool sensation. Served with cilantro lime coleslaw and a fiery chilli sauce. £4.99

T.G.I.’s offer a massive menu of traditional American food, with equally big portions. You certainly will not leave hungry. Appetisers include favourites such as tender chicken chicken wings that are served traditional style or boneless, dressed in a fiery hot sauce or Jack Daniel’s sweet and smoky glaze, served with celery sticks and blue cheese dip. The Hot and Cool Lettuce Wraps are worth a try in an attempt to be slightly healthy - a spicy warm chicken salad with peppers and onions wrapped in cold crisp iceberg lettuce leaves. There are also appetisers to share, including nachos loaded with a variety of toppings, stuffed potato skins and even more chicken wings.

From the main menu you have countless options including burgers, sandwiches, pasta, salads, chicken and fish. There is almost too much to choose from but that means even the fussiest eaters should find something they like.

The half rack of ribs were tender, well cooked and fulsome. My guest had chicken fajitas which were authentic and tasty, served with warm doughy wraps and heaps of guacamole, sour cream, cheese and salsa. He licked the plate clean. Half rack £8.99. Full rack £14.99.

The Deserts                                                                                                                                                                             Apple Waffle Crunch

A warm, sweet waffle topped with cinnamon-spiced apple & oatmeal crumble, served with vanilla flavour ice cream & caramel flavour sauce. £5.49

Brownie Obsession. The chocolate lover's dream. Rich, moist brownies with a hot fudge topping, with vanilla flavour ice cream and caramel & chocolate drizzle flavour. £5.

T.G.I.’s certainly isn’t a place for the calorie conscious. The dessert menu offers equally large and sumptuous treats to share or simply enjoy on your own. We were a little bloated by now but for you, the reader we moved onto the desert. The Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake is deliciously creamy and the Brownie Obsession would satisfy any sweet tooth, with lashings of hot fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream.

The Drink
It’s all about the cocktails at T.G.I.’s, which come in standard size for around £5.00 or in humungous goblets for about £7.50. There are the classics, such as Cosmopolitans, Margaritas, Mojitos and Long Island Iced Teas, and more unusual choices such as the refreshingly tangy Uncle Vanya (a blend of vodka, blackberry liqueur and citrus juice) and Hurricane (a mix of rum, passion fruit juice and grenadine topped with orange and lime juice). There are also non-alcoholic cocktails and soft drinks, beer by the bottle and a small wine list.

Long Island Iced Tea. A popular classic. A strong, long blend of vodka, gin, rum and orange liqueur, topped with Coca Cola.

Margarita. The Ultimate classic that sells more in the US than any other cocktail - Jose Cuervo tequila with orange liqueur and lime. Served frozen or on the rocks.
