This
restaurant review was conducted on 13th March 2008. This
pleasant restaurant has been serving Indian food to the
residents of Milton Keynes for nearly a decade.
There’s a banquet menu
for only £13.95 per person and an amazing Sunday buffet
as well as original dining.
Décor
The restaurant has a
classic feel with Indian pictures dotted around, cream
walls and a raised waiting area. The location has plenty
of parking unlike most central Milton Keynes
restaurants.
Food
My guest and I started
with 2 Rajdhani starters £7.95 each which had a variety
of meats from Lamb chops, chicken tikka, sheek kebab,
lamb tikka and samosas. The batter on the samosas are
crisp with all meats tender and full of spicy flavours.
If you want to save yourself for mains, then I would
recommend sharing a Rajdhani starter. Other starters
range from Prawn Puree, Satay and Stuffed Peppers.
For mains I went for the
Chicken marinated in fresh yoghurt and spices which can
also come with Lamb, roasted on a skewer with tomatoes,
onions and green peppers £7.45. The chicken was well
seasoned and the flavours delightful and fresh. The
Breast of Spring Chicken cooked with ground cashew nuts,
almonds and cream £6.95 was a favourite with my guest
with a side of Chickpeas cooked with cheese £2.95. The
texture of the chickpeas complimented the melted cheese.
Sides Fresh aubergines mildly spiced are tangy and zappy
£2.80. The Peshwari Rice £2.60 with coconut and
raison helped cool down the mouth with the hotter
dishes. Keema and Mushroom Rice £2.60 is a must. Keema
being minced beef.
Service
The service was
particularly impressive with all of the waiters helping
each other at each table. They were attentive and
friendly to all.
Atmosphere
The restaurant has
always been busy over the years and lots of people come
back to have a good portioned curry. A take-away and
home delivery service is also available. |
