City Apartments Milton Keynes

City Apartments, 779 South Fifth Street, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 2PS T: 01908 607080

My girlfriend and I decided to go shopping all day in the centre:mk followed by a nice meal in the evening. We were looking to stay somewhere central as we live outside of Milton Keynes and did not want to drive after such a long day.

There are of course, plenty of options to book hotels but we decided it would be a great idea to rent an apartment in the Centre. City Apartments sprang to mind as a friend of mine uses them frequently when visiting on business. I had also seen them advertised in a local magazine on a number of occasions.

Hotel rooms can often seem over-priced with limited space. We decided to treat ourselves and stay above the Theatre District in a fully furnished apartment. We booked online with the easy to use website www.cityapt.co.uk. You will find numerous photos of each apartment; all helping you to make an informed choice. There are apartments in the Hub, the Theatre District and on Silbury Boulevard. You can stay for as long as you like for business or pleasure.

After booking online we collected the keys from the Silbury Boulevard office and headed to our ‘home’ for the weekend. Straight to the top floor we went to find a clean and spacious apartment with wonderful views of Milton Keynes. I like to have a good shower when away from home so was looking forward to seeing the bathroom. The bathroom was spacious, with a powerful (power) shower and a large bath to relax in – just what you need after a long day shopping

The bedroom was fabulous! There was ample space to dance around whilst preening oneself before the night ahead.  There was no shortage of space for hanging clothes and there was even a double wardrobe available along with a chest of drawers for even more garments. The linen on the bed was soft and the pillows better than my own. Your head melted into them for a brilliant nights sleep. The bedroom was comfortable but the only thing we missed in this room was a television for those early morning snoozes. The Hub apartments have flat wall mounted televisions in their main bedrooms so we may try them next time.

The kitchen and the living area are as one with an arty, fresh and clean feel. Every cushion on the comfortable brown leather couch seemed new and the coffee table was polished as if it had just come out of a box. The kitchen was fully furnished with an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, nice plates, stylish cutlery and dishwasher. Who likes to wash dishes on a weekend away? We certainly don’t.

My pet hate when staying in a hotel is the need to borrow an iron and ironing board. We had two irons and lots of space to iron our party clothes whilst listening to music on the huge plasma TV and DVD system located on the wall.

Our apartment was just a stones throw from all you could possibly want in MK including shops, restaurants, bars, and of course, MK Theatre. We also had our own underground parking so there was no need to worry about another pet hate of mine - pay and display.

In conclusion, our stay was a lovely experience and we will certainly be using these apartments again. They offer brilliant value for money and they are well maintained.
