 Previously
a school secretary for over 20 years, Christina Wildman decided
to make a change in her life and realise a dream. After much
hard work and planning, Christina opened Wild About Chocolate in
March 2008 with the support of her husband Roy and son Sam.
Christina enjoys being an independent retailer because it
enables her to give her customers a personal service.
Her
chocolates are individual and wonderful. The shop, based in
Olney offers over 40 types of chocolate from Belgium and
England. The chilled counter is packed with variety and
flavours.
We
selected a few chocolates to try:
Baileys Truffle – These milk and white chocolates are round in
shape. They have a rich flavour with the baileys sitting on your
tongue leaving a rich after taste.
Butter Caramel – Soft caramel choccies that come with praline
and milk chocolate. Subtle in flavour, pleasant and moreish.
Caramel Supreme – White chocolate. The soft caramel is certainly
supreme and sticky.
Caramel Cup Milk Chocolate Cup – Crunchy on the outside, the
sticky centre made this chocolate a favourite of mine.
 Champagne
and Strawberry Truffle - These are pink and look just like a bon
bon sweet. These chocolates are powdery in texture, the
champagne flavour is sharp but tamed by the strawberry truffle.
Raspberry Fondant – dark, flat and round, the texture is thicker
in these chocolates and works well with a hot coffee.
White Flake Truffles – these fluffy centred chocolates are light
and flaky. These are a top seller and I can see why. They melt
in your mouth.
Coffee Crčme Fraiche- dark round treats that come with a coffee
bean topping and are creamy, while the centre is buttery and
tangy.
 Passion Fruit Fondant Cream – these are pretty chocolates. The
white chocolate is decorated with tiny red hearts. They are the
perfect gift for Valentines Day or any romantic moment.
Wild
about chocolate also offer a beautiful selection of Fudges from
Cornwall.
Flavours include: Clotted creams, Rum and raisons, Lemon
meringue, Date with walnuts and vanilla to name a few.
If
you buy 10 chocolates/fudges or more you will receive a FREE
ribboned, gold gift box made from card. This would form a
delightful present for someone at any time of the year.
The shop also offers a choice of jarred traditional sweets that
include : Liquorice, ABC letters, Sherbet dips, Dolly mixtures
and more.
