Mange Tout comes from the French words mange
(meaning eat) and tout (meaning all). This establishment in
Stony Stratford is the ideal location to unwind and eat all
scrummy cakes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes whilst having a
nice hot cuppa.
Vejay has taken over the café which has been on
the high Street for many years. He prides himself, as do his
staff on being friendly, joyful and providing fresh food at all
times. The prices are reasonable and the food portions are
generous in size. The menu offers a terrific selection of hot
and cold foods.
Décor
Traditional dressed jam, unique ingredients and
delicatessens line the walls on the antique pharmacy shelving.
The square draws have been there since the café was a
pharmacist. They will always be part of the café where the
government have listed Mange Tout a Grade 2 Listed Building.
Service
The team at Mange Tout have been working in this
café for a long time. There was no need for me to ask how long
exactly; I could tell form watching them closely. They seemed to
know most of the customers coming through the door. New
customers are also welcomed with open arms.
Food
I fancied a brunch, so selected the Scottish
smoked salmon, scrambled egg on granary toast with a
well-frothed Cappuccino. The egg was fluffy, steaming hot,
melting the butter on my toast. Cracked black pepper made this
an easy, filling meal.
My gossip partner wanted to have a Panini with
cheese and bacon, again steaming hot; she cut the Panini open to
find gooey cheese and flavoured ham. This was a good choice that
arrived with a small side salad.
We both shared a pot of tea that gave us 4 cups
along with a huge slice of home made carrot cake made that
morning by a local lady. We devoured the slice and felt rather
full.
Atmosphere
If you’re

the day simply drift away, or you're meeting up with friends or
family in Stony Stratford, Mange Tout is the meeting point for
you. It’s full of people of all ages chatting away and keeping
up with the local gossip. |
