| A late afternoon drink in the beautiful gardens with countryside views at The Ivy House, in the heart of the Chiltern Vales was to be followed by dinner for the two of us in their charming restaurant. The menu in our room had already been perused with much anticipation, for some of this dishes sound absolutely divine. |

| We all have those occasions where we just want to get away from it all. Here in Stanton St John, we found an idyllic location in the shape of The TalkHouse to simply unwind, relax and enjoy some great food and drink. Situated in a picturesque Oxfordshire village, Stanton St John... |

A fantastic new takeaway has hit Milton Keynes in the shape of Percys. You can now enjoy quality BBQ food delivered right to your door. We were immediately fascinated by a menu containing some great sounding burgers, flat breads.. |

The Hub in Central Milton Keynes hosts several of the biggest restaurant chains in the country. Nando’s, with three establishments in Milton Keynes alone, surprisingly occupies one of the smallest units available.... |

Think you know Nando’s? Think again! There is a good chance that you may have seen or even visited a Nando’s restaurant before, particularly if you live in Milton Keynes, where the third branch has recently opened in the new central food court. |

| Browns Restaurant Milton Keynes is finally here and boy; was it worth the wait! The hugely successful brand that is Browns has been established since 1973. Amongst their portfolio are some of the trendiest Brasseries in London, including their hugely popular venue in Covent Garden. |

| If you ask a bar tender how to easily and effortlessly make a cocktail, they’ll probably advise you to ensure you opt for a vodka based variety. The chances of going wrong are greatly reduced. If you visit Turtle Bay at The Hub in Milton Keynes you will see the majority of their cocktails are rum based..... |

 |
| Undoubtedly one of the more stylish restaurants at The Hub in Milton Keynes, Loch Fyne continues to prove a huge hit with diners in Central Milton Keynes and us, here at MK Reviews. We’ve never had a bad experience in this restaurant. We adore the huge and diverse range of fish dishes on offer...... |

 |
| As you enter this vast restaurant you’ll immediately notice the huge Persian rugs adorning the walls and the collection of eclectic, upside down lamp shades hanging from the ceiling. Like the décor, the food and the overall experience that is Shiraz, is unlike anything else you will experience. |

| There is of course, an element of risk when opening any new restaurant. Some might argue that opening an establishment that serves Caribbean food in the heart of the Hub in Milton Keynes, carries more risk than usual. However, if you talk to anyone who has been lucky enough to visit a Caribbean island for their holidays... |

| I had never made the short journey
to Olney, even though I had heard it was a lovely place. So,
with the intention of making the most out of probably the last
sunny day of the year, my partner and I decided to rectify this
on Saturday October 16, and visit the town. |

| Simply ask a business colleague the question
‘How’s it going?’ and most, if they answer honestly, will almost
certainly say it’s been tough. The good news is that we are
slowly coming out of the recession. But even so, many people
clearly do not have the surplus cash they were previously used
to.... |

| Ha
Ha Bar and Grill at The Hub in Milton Keynes was our destination
on a Wednesday night for what we hoped would be some good food
and possibly a cocktail or two thrown in. We made our way
immediately to the restaurant area where we were offered seats
in one of the inviting booths. |
|
|
 |
| From
the obscure to the classic, and even something in between; when
it comes to cocktails, there really is only one venue you should
be thinking of in Milton Keynes. We’ve visited a number of bars
in the area but none of them make cocktails quite like haha.
This venue is a cocktail lover’s paradise. |

 |
| If you frequent the Hub in Milton Keynes with any degree of
regularity you will probably have noticed that Loch Fyne is
always busy. We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night and
it did not take us long to see why this venue is so popular.
This is one of the better looking restaurants at The Hub. |

| The Woburn
Brasserie, situated on Bedford Street, has often caught our eye
when walking or driving past – sometimes for the wrong reasons.
My partner and I actually told ourselves “let’s try here” well
over a year ago, but we changed our minds because this hugely
attractive restaurant was so eerily quiet. |
|
|
 |
| Over the coming months, Brook Hall are hosting
dinner evenings which some people will, I am sure, compare to
Come Dine With Me. Meals are served at a single seating, with
all guests seated around one table. |
|

 |
| Independents such as butchers and bakeries, are
not easy to find these days. Supermarkets might be to blame, but
with so many of the British public in love with them, it is
fruitless campaigning or hoping for the return of those lovely,
local shops, that were once the heart of the community. |

 |
| Having visited Paris several times over the years, I almost felt
like I was back in the capital of France when visiting Brasserie
Blanc in The Hub. The restaurant has a typically French feel,
from the décor to the waiting staff – everything says “French.” |

Milton Keynes has a number of restaurants offering lots
of cuisines, yet there are few who specialise in seafood. Loch
Fyne originally started out as a roadside stall on the banks of
Loch Fyne and has since rolled out a number of successful
seafood eateries around the UK.....

Rarely, if ever, have we looked forward to a meal
more than this. Cameron’s fine dining at The Navigation Inn is
here and boy; was it worth the wait! Tasting is believing! If I
could live my life a hundred times over, I doubt that with all
the training in the world, I would ever be able to prepare food
quite like this. |

With the snow finally abating, my partner and I
decided to take a short drive to Woburn and visit Olivier’s at
The Inn, one of the most stylish restaurants in the area. As we
left our car we looked up and noted the gorgeous exterior to the
main reception. |

Red Hot World Buffet give a
whole new meaning the phrase “spoilt for choice.” That is where
the secret of their success lies. This restaurant is not packed
to the rafters simply because of the amount of food on offer –
they are probably unique in offering so much choice but also,
somehow..... |

The act of
eating out on Christmas Day is like marmite. You either love it
or you hate it. Traditionalists who prefer to stay at home for
their Christmas feast would almost certainly have plenty to
think about if they were able to sample food at The Carrington
Arms. |

 |
What is your
perception of hotel food? If you paint a picture of boring,
traditional dishes with a cook by numbers approach, then the
Ramada Encore in Central Milton Keynes will blow that perception
right out of the water. |

 |
The residents of Moulsoe might
not like me much for saying so, but the Carrington Arms, despite
being only a short drive from Central Milton Keynes, is
seemingly in the middle of nowhere. For that reason, when I
opened the door on a Tuesday night, I was a little surprised to
see the restaurant absolutely packed. |

The recently opened Verandah Talk is a new
Indian and Lebanese restaurant located in
Wolverton. The mixture of mild spices and
aroma's attract a vast number of people from
various backgrounds. |
